Hello everyone,

If you are reading this, it means you are one of the readers who trust us to decipher geopolitical news, and I thank you for that.

To be honest with you, publishing five editions a week is difficult to maintain. Athera is not my full-time job (and I am the only writer, which means that some editions have been missed due to external commitments), and I prefer to be upfront about this rather than let the quality suffer. For now, the revenue from the ads and your memberships to Athera + are not sufficient for me to devote more time to Athera.

I was surprised to find that when I publish less often, you read more. Open rates go up, as do clicks. In other words, by trying to do well with one email a day, I ended up drowning the signal in noise.

So, starting next week, here is our new format:

Monday edition: a look back at the weekend and a preview of events to watch out for in the coming days.

• Coming soon: Wednesday's editorial for Athera + members, on a subject close to my heart, particularly Europe's relationship with the major powers.

Friday edition: a recap of the week's important events, my recommendations for further reading, podcasts and books.

The weekend: The Blind spot, a more in-depth look at a particular theme, for Athera + members.

Three (and soon four) newsletters per week, more dense, better crafted. I sincerely believe that you will benefit from this.

Thank you for being here. See you on Friday for the weekly recap, and this weekend for The Blind spot !

See you soon,
Quentin Souléry
